The formative years of every young DJ and producer’s career are spent laying solid foundations. In James Barnsley’s case this was quite literally the case as he built the dance floor and terrace of the infamous Peephouse club in Leeds.
Peephouse is home to the world-renowned bastion of clubs, “Back to Basics”. The club was voted, “Best Small Club”, by DJ Magazine and is where James holds his residency. His musical home is synonymous with continuous quality and where James plays regularly alongside the best DJ’s in the world.
Recent gigs alongside the likes of Carl Cox, Claude VonStroke and Jamie Jones, amongst others, have demonstrated James’ skills and ability to everyone that hears him play. Although Back to Basics is his residency James also guests at nights like Mulletover, Just Jack in Bristol, Below in Birmingham and Space in Ibiza.
An obsession with music production means you will be hearing a lot more from James in the near future. Signings to Get Physical, Breakout Audio and Back to Basics Recordings continually received mass support and airplay from Steve Bug, Josh Wink, Phonique and the majority of the worlds premier league of DJ’s.
James Barnsley’s musical talent is testament to his dedication and showcases the best in quality underground house. As one of the UK’s hottest up and coming stars you will be seeing a lot more of James as he continues to set dance floors alight and blossom at every turn.
