Robert James is one of the UK’s hottest new talents. Although originally from Blackpool, Robert soon moved on to destinations with a bit more cutting edge culture and his passion for music continued to shine. Many summers in Ibiza and basing himself, the rest of the time, in Leeds made the perfect breeding ground for the artist he has now become.
In recent years Robert has been a major player on the European scene, especially in the best spots throughout the UK and in Ibiza. Regular gigs at Back to Basics in Leeds, The Rainbow in Birmingham and Space in Ibiza as well as having been resident for the Zoo Project have taken Robert’s sound to the masses. These gigs and others have seen him play alongside the likes of Carl Cox, Jamie Jones, Layo and Bushwacka and Clive Henry, to name a few.
Influenced by a range of sounds, Robert’s production skills, as well as his DJing, continue to blossom with every stroke. With a sound deeply rooted in rave but perfectly suited to current dance floors his take on house is unique and set to rock the industry in 2010.
With support and forthcoming releases on Hot Natured, Crosstown Rebels, and Magicbag you will have undoubtedly heard Robert’s sound throughout the best clubs in the world. Numerous well-known artists are championing his sound and a close musical synergy with Jamie Jones is leading to future collaborations. Jamie recently played some of Robert’s tracks on his Radio 1 Essential Mix.
