Born in ‘87 and teaching himself to mix from the age of 12, Ash Subb-an’s musical education was enhanced by his study of Sound and Multimedia at the University of Central England. There he began learning his production techniques and defined his aural identity. His inquisitive nature and natural talent led to the development of his production skills and the showcasing of his unique sound in live sets.
As resident at Below in Birmingham, one of the most respected bastions of House in the UK, Subb-an has continued to grow as an artist. He regularly plays alongside the likes of Jamie Jones, Anja Schneider, Clive Henry and Wolf + Lamb, to name a few. As well as his residency at Below Subb-an also guests at the likes of Back to Basics, The End and Weekend Club in Berlin.
Releases on labels such as Leftroom, 20/20 Vision, Immigrant and his own, newly founded, One Records have led to the likes of Laurent Garnier, Richie Hawtin and Luciano championing his music persistently. Subb-an’s first release on One Records has received rave reviews in Mixmag, iDJ, DE:Bug Magazine and Resident Advisor as well as airplays on Radio 1.
Look out for forthcoming remixes and releases on labels such as Claude VonStroke’s Mothership, B-Pitch Control, Hypercolor and more on One Records. Subb-an’s production and live sets continue to set dance floors alight and assert him as one of the most exciting producers and performers around.
