Having experienced an instant success from its very start in 1991, receiving many awards such as the Mixmag DMC club of the year award in 1992 and releasing music albums such as ‘Cut the Crap’ which has been listed by DJ Magazine 38th out of 100 in The Best Dance Compilations Ever, Back to Basics has become a legendary club that needs no introduction. Listed as the best night out in the UK and often recognised as the home of house music, Back to Basics has gained the status of a cultural phenomenon that helped seed and develop the club culture of the UK in the early 90's. On November 2009 Basics celebrated its 18th birthday, making it officially the longest running club night in the world. Even with such a lengthy and eventful history, almost two decades later Back to Basics still stands as strong as ever, continually pushing the boundaries of the clubbing scene and delivering the top line-ups each week, attracting the world's most respected headliners such as Derrick Carter, Danny Tenaglia, Frankie Knuckles, Josh Wink and many more. The club's residents DJ's Ralph Lawson, James Holroyd, Buckley, Tristan Da Cunha, Dave Beer and Burnski are all legends in their own right and form the main backbone of the establishment, spoiling the crowds each week with the best underground house vibes that could not be heard outside the doors of Basics.
