Buckley - Catch a Taste out now on One Records

Having had huge sucess this year with “Kitch n Sync” on Back to Basics, a remix "Psycho" on 20 20 Vision and his remix of Markus Nikolai’s seminal house classic “Bushes” being released on Southern Fried, Buckley now comes with "Catch a Taste" on One Records.

Round four on One Records is Buckley’s debut on the imprint, ‘Catch A Taste’, complete with remixes from murmur’s Geddes and One Records frontmen, Subb-an & Adam Shelton.

‘Catch A Taste’ follows a prolific 20 year career career from Buckley, a Northern musical soul who has released on Jesse Rose’s imprint Made to Play, as The Jackford Files on Dust Trax and as the Holy Cow with Tom Wainwright on Sony. Buckley captures a raw and deep feel to title track ‘Catch A Taste’, its raspy vocals reminiscent of an early house production, with animated hi-hats and smooth synths giving a contemporary edge.

Geddes takes the track down a tripped out path, bubbling with warmth, shaking with dramatic chords and true to form paying close attention to the finer details. Head of the much admired murmur imprint and London based mulletover events, Geddes has built a steadfast reputation for his high quality musical mindset.

One founders, Subb-an & Adam Shelton deliver the second remix, led by a bouncy bassline, laid back beats and hypnotic groove, delivering an alluring and original take on this sumptuous record. One Records gathering pace as one of the strongest imprints from the UK, supporting local artists and pitching a groovy and enveloping staple sound, as demonstrated in this release.

Back in the early 90's Buckley started playing for trend-setting UK clubs, Renaissance and The Hacienda - the revolutionary Manchester night run by Mike Pickering and the place where anything went. Soon Buckley was asked to guest DJ at almost every credible club in the country including Ministry Of Sound, Gatecrasher, Cream, and Colours and by the mid 90s found himself resident at Northern club nights Zero G in Nottingham, Pop in Manchester and Up Yer Ronson in Leeds, cementing his name on the exploding underground house scene Space club in Leeds. A long-standing resident at legendary northern club Back to Basics in Leeds, last year saw Buckley embark on a residency at We Love Space in Ibiza, as well as playing in Singapore, Thailand, Egypt, Hong Kong, Italy, and the infamous Panorama Bar in Berlin.
